I must have the dustiest flat on the planet, bar none. I need an air purifier that will gobble up all this airborne gunge. Does anyone have any ideas/recommendations of a reasonably priced nature? I'd be immensely grateful.

Do they still make air purifiers? I remember seeing them advertised in the Argos catalogue back in the mid 1980s (when the catalogue only used to have about 300 pages inside) but I have to admit that I haven't seen many since.

My family had a Remington and also a Breville (same make as the famous sandwich toaster) air purifer back then. It was plugged into the corner of the living room and we just let it go for about half an hour. We also had one in the bedroom and the sound of it made us get to sleep so quickly, as well as a cool room. Not sure if they are still made.

Do extractor fans do more or less the same job as air purifiers by any chance?
