I would imagine it would be much cheaper than garden centres.

There's a TV programme....usually on sky called Columbia road gardens where a bloke goes down columbia road and chooses loads of plants for a garden makeover.

It looks good so go for it

Like any market, there's alot of cr*p - but get there early (I mean very early), and there is some good stuff at good prices. Allow time for parking, too!
I have been to Columbia Street market on a number of occasions,I found it good value for money I believe it starts Quiet early I used to arrive around 7am with a large bag the later it got the traders used to start selling of plants cheaper. Good Luck

cheers for that...good tip about getting there early! :o)
Hi there, I'm a regular down there and if you want the bargains go very early 6am ish or later around 2-4 when they're packing up and want to get rid of stock. It's a lovely market and you'll have a great time as there's lots of little shops only open on Sundays (leave credit card at home!!). Make a real day of it and pop down to spittlefields market as well near Liverpool street (10 mins walk) then round off with a curry in Brick Lane.
