As I sit typing this, I can see birds flying back and forth, nest building in my brand new gutters. The twigs and branches are even dangling down in front of the window further rubbing it in. Whilst I love wildlife, I don't want any damage done. Any ideas what I can do?

you'll have to clean them out on a daily basis. If yuo keep at it, they will go and build their nest somewhere else.
We had problems with sparrows, but they have larnt eventually that they are not allowed in the garage.

Thanks Goofy ... though I can't reach that high ... hence my problem.
The main problem you may have, is if they build in your 'down pipe', if you can't get up there, maybe you know someone who can, you need a mesh blocker for it so they can't.

Thanks Lonnie ... now thsat you say that it makes sense .... Cheers ...

Most places that sell rain gutters also sell the mesh wire that lays in the trough to keep out leaves. You may also find mesh screen plugs for the spouts to keep pests out both winged and four-footed.

Most places selling rain gutters also sell the mesh screens and plugs. The screens overlay the gutter and prevent leaves from clogging and and rodents or birds from nesting or entering the spouts.
