put the trousers in the freezer and let it go completely hard, it should peel off

Failing which rub it with an ice cube and then you can scrape of the worst with a knife.

Don't hold me to this, as its just something i heard from my dear ole nana - but apparently, (and you can do this paint too says she) if you put a paiece of paper over the gum and iron over the top of it, the gum will stick to the paper and pull away easily from the fabric, you can then wash away the remaining stain by soaking in hot water and then washing.

white spirit will take it off my daughter in law managed to sit in chewing gum and got it every where white spirit on pieces of cotton wool rubbed it off only thing was had to wash the trousers several times to get rid of the smell of the spirit

i bought something in Germany called chewing gum remover, and you just rubbed it on the clothes, and it came off, try looking for a site that sells it, as i haven't come across it here in the UK. but in Germany you can buy it from all the supermarkets.
