when i light the oven on my gas cooker the flame is low until i turn it up and then it goes really high. by that i mean from one to nine it is really high and it wont turn down. if i turn back to the original setting ie the one that you use for lighting the oven it will go low. last weekend i burnt the sunday roast !!! Any help will be appreciated. By the way the cooker is a leisure 2100 sterling.

pamh, You need your local corgi registered engineer to replace the oven thermostat. The reason the burner is only going low on the actual low setting, is that the low setting is a by-pass rate - all other settings rely on the thermostat working correctly.
