Can I propogate a rowan tree?

I don't see why not as they propogate themselves naturally in the wild when the berries fall and start germinating, unless this is one particular tree where the berries have to pass through the gut of a bird first and then be excreted which submits them to some kind of biological process in the intentine which facilitates germination. I can only suggest you wait until autumn and try it, although you might have to dry the berries first.


If it works, it will probably take a long time before the tree grows to mature size, but if age is on your side, give it a go .

Try looking around the garden in damp shady places. I get lots of seedlings growing in my garden that have come from my neighbour's tree.
