Hello out there,

I have a rather silly request. I am securing a fence to the top of a wall and need to use rawbolts. Can anyone please advise me how to use rawbolts?

Rawlbolts (there's an l) or anchor bolts come in a few types. but basically as you screw them up they expand the piece of metal at the bottom which grips the sides

this is the standard type:

Drill a hole big enough to take the bold and drop it in. Tighten with a spanner and it'll pull itself in and tighten.

Depending on the application you might use this type:

With this type when you do the bolt up you are left with an threaded stud projecting which you can bolt things to

You can get them from most DIY stores

be carefull where you fix the fence to, if you are anchoring it to the top course with met post's ,this may rip the top of your wall off in high winds?

i would suggest you use some 3 x 1 1/2 and come down the wall as well!!

I stand corrected.

Mind you shouldn't there be It's rather than Its ?

Were you not contracting "it is" to it's requiring an apostraphe to indicate the missing letter?

Oh and P.S. it's customary to use a capital I in " I'll " you slipped up in this recent thread here:

Shall we call a truce now and stop correcting each other?
