A couple of friends came to my house and walked through wet tar, I now have 6 splodges of wet tar on my carpet and was wondering if anyone had any advice on how best to remove it? Vanish? 1001 Cleaner? Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

they have a stain removal section

There are industrial strength cleaner's made especially for removing tar from stuff, such as these -

MARC 93-LT HEAVY-DUTY CONCENTRATED TAR REMOVER - Designed for deep penetration and quick and easy removal of tar, asphalt, pitch, grease, oils and roofing compounds from machinery, vehicles and tools. Rinse away with water. Non-flammable.

MARC 93-OT ORANGE TERPENE TAR REMOVER AND DEGREASER - Especially designed for quick and easy removal of road tar, asphalt, grease and oil. Has a 100% natural orange base. Contains no chlorinated solvents or petroleum distillates.

You might be able to find some at a industrial products supplier and try it on a corner of the carpet first to see if it works.

It is pretty strong but is water soluble to wash off.
