Hi, I want to buy a tent. Can anyone suggest somewhere for cheap tents? I'm looking at at least 4 birth. Cheers.

Tesco Extra stores had some great bargains on tents earlier in the year but these were probably a short-term promotion and they might not have them now. (There are no cheap tents at tesco.com).

Otherwise, the best place for cheap tents might be Argos. Their 4 berth tents start at �44.99.

Outdoor world are quite well priced - http://www.outdoorworld.org.uk/acatalog/4_Berth_Tents.html and you may find 'starter' tent kits at Argos as above. Also Halfords, (seriously - �30 or so for a 4 pax. tent) Blacks, and Littlewoods as options too. (search 'cheap tent' or something similar online and you should get a few options)

The cheaper tent will be really only a summer use - don't expect it to be ok for that trek to the Andes...

Argos tents are pretty good! I had one that lasted for 12 years, and my new one is superb too!!

Our Tesco has them in for about �50 you get the 4 man tent, sleeping bags and blow up mattresses

He he!! Actually, there's only the two of us, but would like plenty of room. Then again...after a few weekends away....maybe there will be the 4 births Heathfield!! Cross fingers eh!?!? ;-)

I've got a 7-8 man tent that has never been used. I don't even know what it looks like but it is in perfect condition.
