Has anyone got a really good deal on home buildings ins lately? My current insurers want to double it this year, and we have never claimed in over 10 yrs! We live in a two bed end terrace in the North West and are used to paying around 15 a month. All answers greatly appreciated!

Try Norwich Union, 160.00 For a 2 bed Terraced cottage in North Wales, that seems ok to me.

Good luck

I wonder if you are in or close to the flood plain of a river, even though your house has never flooded?

There are loads of websites that put your details into its bank of different insurance company quotes to find the cheapest. This is one of them. http://www.easy-quote.co.uk/

A few minutes on the web often works wonders when trying to get competitive quotes.

Try quotes at www.moneysupermarket.co.uk. I got a great deal from the Halifax: 190 for a 220K rebuilding cost on a four-bed detached house in Reading.

If you don't know your rebuilding cost, use the BCIS calculator at http://calculator.bcis.co.uk/
Further to the excellent answers you've already been given, here's one that , in a way, I hope isn't any use to you!!

But if you are over 50, the RIAS group can offer some great deals in both home and car insurance. No - I'm not on commission for them, but I do have my insurance with them ;)

They get some good reviews from Which. If this posting is any use to you, you can contact them on 0800 096 7879 from 8am-8pm Mon to Fri, and 9am-4pm on Sundays.

Alternatively try their website:

www.over50s.com/homeinsurance.php

Whatever you choose I hope you finish up with a good reduction.
