Climbing Hydrangea

We have a climbing hydrangea which is growing but has no buds on it. The plant is about three year old but has never been in flower. Has anyone ideas on why it has not had any flowers.

Hi, Three years is really quite young for a climbing hydrangea they are known to be very slow to start off with, but once they have their roots down they should romp away (anytime now for your plant). They do require quite a lot of moisture, but other than than I have seen them flowering happily in sun and in my garden, mine flowers well in a shady position. Hard to say any more without your soil type and the position of the plant, hope this helps.
