Do you mean single or triple pleats ? You can buy header tape for french triple pleats.Fans of pleats are made by drawing cords or by multi-pronged hooks. You can get various depths of tape suitable for any fabric.. The deepest is best suited to floor-length curtains. John Lewis is your best bet for this type of thing..I wouldn't say triple pleats are easy to do unless you are a whizz with a sewing machine Plain tape is easy .. you sew it on and the pull the cord through and adjust the pleats. Try JL or if you have a local independent department store with a Mostyns franchise ..Mostyns sell all the bits and bobs you might need to make curtains and can advise you..
