after no blossom appearing on my edible cherry tree i began to think it was dead, but the inside of the branchies were still green so left it a while longer, when inspecting it yesterday it was still the same (new tree young about metre or so tall) i thought a new position might be needed when i dug it up all the roots had been eaten, same with holly bush in same area, the conifers have have in that area are fine, what do you think could have eaten the roots, my neighbour seems to think ants but i haven't found any or a nest?

You don't mention the leaves, do they have any marks at all, and as for flowering, when did you first plant it, because it won't flower until Spring.
If you've dug it up, i'd put it back pronto, and keep it moist at least until its taken.
Good luck.
