I've had a complete blank on what to look for in curtain widths! When buying a pair of curtains, is the width stated for the whole width of the window or per curtain? My window is 100" wide, allowing for covering at the sides, so do I need to look for curtains saying 100" width or 50" width (ie two curtains in the packet at 50" ) Does this make sense!?? LOL! Thanks very much!!
The general rule was always a width and a half in each curtain - therefore 100" wide window would take 150" in each curtain to allow for gathering. For nets it is double in each curtain therefore on a 100" wide window your net would need to be 200" wide (whatever that is in metric!!). That is what I was taught but dont klnow if trends have changed. When buying ready made, the amount stated is for each curtain in the pair - Hope this helps - June
