Protecting tools in garage
2 Answers
How do I protect my woodworking tools from rust in my garage. It's heart-breaking to see my stuff slowly decaying. Moving my gear indoors isn't an option [unless I divorce my missus, now.... hang on... ;-) ]

There are a number of rust and corrosion protectors available from hardware stores, DIY shops (B&Q etc) and also bicycle or car component shops. One of the best products available is Boeshield T-9, made by Boeing which was developed for aircraft use. (hard to find in UK) I have my own and my fathers woodworking tools in a garage; some of them are over sixty years old; none of them are rusty. Have only ever used oil, vaseline and bicycle rust inhibitor on them.
