My shampoo is empty and I want to clean it out before putting it in the recycle bin. Problem is I cannot get the lid off. Any ideas.

Submerge it in water, squeezed empty of air. Then let it fill up with water. Squirt the water out. Repeat until water runs clear.
Try holding the bottle in very hot water - mind the fingers - and let the plastic warm up which will soften the top, then have a go holding the botle in a tea towel for grip, and lever the top off.

It probably has a couple of plastic 'bars' to keep the lid in place rather than being a twist off type.
Just cut the bottle in half with a stanley knife.

thanks everyone. Now have the choice of slicing my fingers off or scolding myself in the name of recycling !!
Only joking, thanks for the advice.
