I bought a new Hoover fridge/freezer a short while ago, and it's a noisy so-and-so. You can't hear it running, but it's forever clicking and cracking - as if the material it's made of is constantly expanding and contracting. It was at it even before the current heatwave, so that's not the cause. Should I get someone out to it while it's still under guarantee, or are they just going to say it's normal behaviour?

Is is self defrosting ??? If so they do make a lot more noise I find.
Mine does too, I think its the icemaker doing its thing. You're just going to have to live with it.
I was told by a fridge engineer that this is normal but my FF now makes a whirring noise when I open the door and the motor stops. I'm going to switch it off for a while, brush the condenser down and clean the drain pipe. Together with gently shaking the appliance to dislodge any ice formation, I'm hoping this will solve the problem. Does anyone agree with this ?
