bird of paradise

I have a b of paradise which is growing rather well with about 10 leaves now, when can I expect to see it flower?

Strelitzia only produce flowers on mature plants, so I would'nt start to hold your breath just yet!. Apparently they are more likely to flower if the roots are restricted in their pots, plenty of rich manure should help too. Good Luck Tbird+

I have had one growing for 4 years now lovely leaves and was thinking about putting it in a larger pot but won't now after reading this. Thanks
