Blue Wheelybins

I'm about to move to an area with blue wheelybins labelled 'Newspapers and Magazines only'.
Surely they can't be serious? Can't I put other paper based rubbish in there such as junk mail or thin card?

These bins are for recycling purposes.They are usually used in conjunction with other wheelybins. In this area we have 3 bins. green for garden rubbish, blue for recycling and grey for everything else. It's not a bad system.

I'd ring the council to confirm what paper they do accept. Some areas don't have the failities to recycle certain things so they won't accept them. My council accepts paper but I have to drive into the next county to recycle cardboard!

Our council (Norfolk) can recycle paper so long as it isn't shredded - amazing since the first process in recycling is shredding / pulping!

Each council is different. We can put all paper and plastic products in our blue wheelie, but no glass. It may seem strange but if it states Newspaper and Magazines only, then crazy as it may seem that is what you must do.
