i've broken the my light fitting, the bit that you twist/screw the light bulb into, can i buy one of these and sort it myself or do i need an electrician?

When you ask, ' can I buy one of these and sort it out myself ' are you meaning -

Are they available to buy? - YES

Am I allowed to? - YES

Am I capable? - DON'T KNOW, it depends how handy you are with a screwdriver! but it's not rocket science.
It is easy peasy and available from any local hardware shop, or DIY store such as Wickes, B and Q...

PLEASE make sure the light is switched off before fiddling.

Should cost no more than �2 or so.

I think I would aggree with tonyted... although not difficult the fact that you are not even aware of availability would suggest you are not really up to scratch with diy...so please be careful and go for a friend if poss to help

Be wary of rogue traders also who would see pounds signs walking towards them with this one!!!

ok guys thank you for your answers, i will go to my diy store any buy what i need, but i think i'll get a (qualified) mate to fit. but as an aside i do know how to turn the relevant fuse off, and i wouldn't be that daft but lol that you would think that
