I received a basket of flowers which leaked water on to my teak table and it has left white marks. I did try one suggestion from the internet which suggested toothpaste(!) (it didn't work). Grateful for any tried and trusted remedies that won't end up with me having to get the whole table re-polished professionally as I can't afford it. :-(
I have a feeling you may have to put meths on the mark and set fire to it,drastic i know but i had the same problem once, and thats exactly what the french polisher did.
Maybe try it as a last resort...good luck.
you could look into rubbing nuts walnuts I think remove white marks may find something on the web I remember seeing this on TV or why not try aggie at the times she answers this sort of questions in the Saturday magazine with the Sat Times .send questions to to [email protected] hope this is of some help.
You could try Liberon Ring remover ..it's about four quid a bottle .It worked on my oak coffee table a treat. I bought it at a local hardware shop..but places like John Lewis probably have it.You can probably get it on line from a DIY site.
I found this tip on an American website, and although it sounds mad..it really worked for me. Place a cotton tea towel over the area, and rub a warm iron over it in a circular motion. The idea is that the heat takes the moisture out of the stain. It made a really big difference to an awful water stain on my oak table. My husband was very sceptical at the notion of it,but was really impressed with the results I achieved!
