Having LPG central heating installed, contractor specified Ferroli Maxima 35 System Boiler, does anyone know if these are reliable and durable? Are they repairable, are there maintainance contracts available for this make Cheers
I'm sat with my back to one as I write. After the manufacturers 1 year guarantee expires I would take out a British Gas service contract. I,ve had quite a few problems with mine, with most of the working parts being replaced. If i'd gone to a plumber it would have cost me about 800. My model is over 10 yrs old so they might have improoved in recent yrs.
bobby, As carrust mentioned boilers in general have improved in the last ten years.
Ferroli do have a good reputation, you could arrange for a service contract with Ferroli. You will probably find that the boiler comes with a 2 to 3 year guarantee. Your heating engineer will advise on this.
Hope this helps.
Can't speak about that model, but I had a ferroli for over ten years, it was serviced twice and both times just needed minor adjustaments. I only got rid because I was told the newer ones were more efficient and cost effective.
