Does anyone know roughly how much it costs to have a telephone and a television point installed to a house?

An extra phone socket will cost around 20 - 30 if you have it done by BT or Cable. A television point could mean an additional arial (about 40) or you could use a splitter and do the cabling yourself at the risk of ruducing signal quality.
Use a splitter and save yourself 40 quid - the signal loss/difference is negligable/zero if you do a good job. By telephone point do you mean extension as opposed to another line? if so you could easily put that in yourself also. If you live in North Yorkshire i will happily come and do them both for you for half price :-)
