Do you dead head gladioli or leave the dead flowers on the stem until they have died off? I say dead head but my husband says leave them on - it's so untidy I just want to get secateurs out.

Yes, you can chop their heads off when your husband's not looking! Remove the flowered stem but leave the foliage.

My gladdies are all awry this year .I planted fifty bulbs and up until a couple of weeks ago didn't have one flower .Out of that lot I have now got about six in bloom and I have cut them and put them in a vase indoors because I am sick of the rain beating them down.Instead of all being upright they are leaning round the garden like a lot of drunks.!They look awful !
