A couple of ways for you to try. 1..Treat stains with coca-cola. 2..Rub dry cornstarch on the stain, cover with cloth, press with hot iron, brush away dry cornstarch. 3.. Rub stained area with a paste made with baking soda and water. 4.. Rub stain with Ronson lighter fuel (taking care that there is no naked flame nearby)
My wife uses 'Shout' on my overalls after I have worked on the truck. If there is not much, she uses the aerosol, which is more expensive. If I have got them blathered in grease (eg after an oil change) she uses the pistol grip version (like windolene and the like). These are much cheaper (and you can buy refills without the 'gun') but is very knackering on the hand. They both work a treat.
I remember seeing someone do it on the telly by using a warm to hot iron over greaseproof paper.
Rub a bit of washing up liquid on the spot before washing.
