Hi, The saga of my mum's kitchen continues... does anyone have a stainless steel backsplash behind their cooker, positioned below the hood? Although we know they look fabulous we have been told that they are a complete pain to keep clean and we should consider the traditional option of tilies behind the cooker instead.
Can anyone advise us or put or minds at ease regarding the stainless steel option?
Thank you x

Wash stainless steel with something like washing up liquid to get rid of stains, immediately after cooking. Then shine with a little baby oil, it works like a miracle on stainless steel.
After a life time in catering I wouldn`t have anything stainless steel. However splashbacks are particularly bad as they turn brown as well as trying to clean without scratching.
we have had a stainless steel splashback behind our cooker for some years and it still looks great. just wipe it down (no scourers!) and those E cloths keep it nice and shiny
Have you thought about marble or granite?
I agree with the baby oil tip, Lakeland also sell a fantastic SS cleaner
