Maggot/vine wevil update! Help again please!

Hi, thanks all for your help. Last night I got into bed and hanging above my head from the ceiling was another... maggot? Or it does look similar to one of those vine wevil white things someone put as a link on my other post!!! Oh, I tried to grab it in tissue and it fell on my arm, I screamed, fell off my bed, woke up my son and then lost the bl**dy white maggotty thing. I crawled around on my floor for 40 minutes looking for it and couldnt find it so at 1am in the morning I was changing my sheets and hoovering. I hardly slept as I imagined it crawling in my ear or in my hair so needless to say, today I am knackered! I have looked at the vine wevil website and now I am sure I have seen one of these, grey, hard shelled beetle things in my house before I noticed the maggot looking thing. Is it the same thing? Where do they come from? I have a large waxy leaved house plant but it is in my living room and I have only seen these beetles and maggot things in my bedroom. Please help as I am so squeemish I couldnt sleep last night. I don't want to tell anyone else as I'm ashamed!! Thanks so much. Sair xxx

The maggots only live in soil ready to eat the roots of your plants. So i dont know what the maggoty thing can be. i have sent you a reply on the animal nature also with a good site that kills the evil little sods.

Hi Sair From what you say it is definitely not vine weevil. You say it was hanging from the ceiling - what was it hanging from? Do you have an ordinary light on ceiling? Can you tell me anything else about it? skylight

It was crawling on the ceiling and then fell and was hanging from it's orange head, dangling down. I have a normal light pendant on the ceiling. I have only just moved in about a month ago and the whole place was stripped of carpet and every ceiling and wall painted, so I don't feel there can be any secret place they are coming from as I've only just recently had a bare house and been in every nook and cranny with a paint brush.
