My bamboo has become eary more like a grass than the bamboo i was expecting, is this okay or does it need pruning?

I don't think it needs pruning the only pruning you need to do is when any of the canes die or it gets too big I should check what type you have as I don't think you can grow the thick cane varieties in this country .It may need time to mature though so give it a chance.
