Im thinking about having gas put in before it begins to get cold, but if an electric heater is cheaper there's not much point. Can anyone suggest the better/cheaper option
All energy prices have rocketed over the past year, so I think this is going to be a case of swings and roundabouts. However, we could also have a energy shortage in the years ahead so if you're house is currently heated by electricity I would be tempted to opt for some gas heating, if only to have an alternative source of heating available if we have prolonged power cuts.
unfortunatley since gas centeral heating boilers also require electricity to make them work as well as gas it wont make a difference if the power goes out you still wont have any heating .. Sorry WendyS
My gas fire doesnt need any domestic electricity, and works during local powercuts, but didnt work in 97 when snow also shut down the power at the local "gas pumping station"
How about considering a wood burner?
