The council dug up a cherry tree from outside our front gate a few months ago.We now have little miniture trees growing in our front lawn.Should the council come back and remedy this or is it up to us.the house is privately owned.

Tell them the roots from their tree are encroaching on your property and you want the sucker growth poisoned. Difficult to know whether it is a legal nuisance but worth a try. Otherwise spray the roots with a Glyphosate weedkiller following instructions carefully.

Thanks for ideas will try both.After phone call council have promised to come out and look at situation.
