I was lying in bed at the time at about half past midnight, just turned over when i saw a blue glow (it lights up blue) so i opened my eyes and the radio came on!!
If it's on a remote then I'm guessing it was on standby?
Most likely it'd either be a power surge on the grid or something like a fridge/freezer switching on/off which would cause an EMF* spike. Same thing that causes computers to freeze and kettles to boil by themselves.
If the hi-fi is on standby then it doesn't take much of a jolt for the electronics to see an "on" signal and boot it up.
