Tariffs vary but, as a guide, British Gas charge me 8.397p (+VAT) per kWh. So, a 2 kW appliance costs 2 x 8.397 x 1.175p per hour to run. i.e. about 20p per hour.

If it is a 2kw fire without a thermostat and you are paying say 10 pence per unit it would cost 2 x10p = 20per hour
