You should always change the locks.

You never who else may have keys.
i think you will have to inform you landlord of this change if you decide to do it though,
I assumed cheekystar is buying the house, not renting.

yep buying our first home, and they guy has built a house next door who we're buying from
we also always change the locks on all outside doors when we have moved.
you never know who has had a key for the house.
If they are PVC doors they are easy to do replacements can be bought from B & Q you don't need to go to the expense of a lock smith
I'd definitely change them, you never know who the previous owner gave a key to for emergency access.
Couln't you ask the previous owner for all the keys he has to your property. Unless he is a real criminal would he go to the expense of having duplicates cut for his own benefit.
