I have some brass that has bad verdigris. I have tried brasso, but it is not really working and I don't have the strength in my hands to polish really hard, having RSI. Has anyone got any tips please?

Soak it in vinegar for a few minutes, then use a little Brasso or fine wire wool.

Thanks I will try that.
Juggerling has the answer. My comment is you do need a very fine wire wool; the 0000grade made by LIBERON,New Romney Kent. will polish metal without scratching.
Sorry Jugglering for my mis-typing your name.

I have a brass fire surround. I've tried Brasso, not much good. However, Cillit Bang (available at all supermarkets in the cleaning section) is fantastic. You use alot less elbow grease than Brasso. Good luck/
