central heating leak/concrete floor

Hi I have a small leak on a CH pipe exit a radiator. My ground floors are all concrete and the leak is probably just under the concrete floor.
Does anybody know of any leak plugger that I can add to the header tank that might solve this, so that I don't have to chiesel away at the floor.

Sorry, there is only one way forward; dig up the floor.

The bad news is, it looks like whoever fitted the central heating didn't cover the pipes with greased tape.

Unprotected copper pipes in concrete are prone to corrosion due to the acidic properties in the concrete. This is normally overcome by bandaging the pipes in greased tape, this keeps the pipes from contacting the concrete.

Agree totally with the above - no other way. There may be a joint in the copper pipe (which there shouldn't be under a concrete floor) which is going to have to be dealt with.

If not wrapped in tape, the pipes should be protected by an outer pipe.

If there is a joint under the floor, that is very bad installing.

As above, it's more likely that the copper has been corroded by the concrete, in which case it is likely to be happening all over your underfloor pipes. You can probably look forward to more leaks, as more pipes fail.

As an afterthought, are you 100% sure the leak is below the floor? The unions connecting the pipe to the radiator ***** do sometimes need a slight tweak to tighten them up. If one of these is weeping, the water would run down the pipe, to the floor, and is often unnoticeable till it hits the floor.
