assuming it's in your central heating system then all you have to do is bleed the radiator that the noise is coming from...on each radiator there is a small key for doing this which you loosen till the air escapes and only water comes out (have a cloth handy!)...then simply re-tighten and you should be flying.

Sometimes, depending on how well your central heating system is designed, it may take a day or more for the air to work its way out of the system.

If it's in the hot water system, rather than the central heating, use a mixer tap: turn the hot on full (but nothing comes out), block the tap (with a wet cloth/rags) and hold on tightly. Turn the cold on full and wait a few minutes, which will enter the hot water system (backwards) and push the air lock out. If no mixer taps, connect separate hot and cold taps with a rubber hose and do the same. You'll probably get cold water coming out of the hot tap for a few minutes afterwards, whether you've suceeded or not.
