For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.assuming it's in your central heating system then all you have to do is bleed the radiator that the noise is coming from...on each radiator there is a small key for doing this which you loosen till the air escapes and only water comes out (have a cloth handy!)...then simply re-tighten and you should be flying.
If it's in the hot water system, rather than the central heating, use a mixer tap: turn the hot on full (but nothing comes out), block the tap (with a wet cloth/rags) and hold on tightly. Turn the cold on full and wait a few minutes, which will enter the hot water system (backwards) and push the air lock out. If no mixer taps, connect separate hot and cold taps with a rubber hose and do the same. You'll probably get cold water coming out of the hot tap for a few minutes afterwards, whether you've suceeded or not.
