Id try a strong cold saline solution (tablespoon of salt in a bit of warm water to dissolve, topped up with cold water to cool). Dab at the stain rather than rubbing and absorb the moisture with a clean bit of kitchen roll. Dont use a coloured rag or cloth that could leach its own colour into the carpet.
Good luck!.
