Electric or gas cooker? Which is more expensive to run?
5 Answers
I'm thinking of buying an electric cooker as opposed to a gas one, but am put off by rumours of electric cookers being much more expensive to run.
Is this true? Which is the better buy in the long run?

Electric can be turned down lower than gas but takes longer to react - the choice is yours.

The most popular and cost efficient is an electric fan oven and a gas hob.
However, if you can afford then you should get an electric induction hob. They are QUICKER than gas and just as controlable. Most importantly they are so easy to keep clean. They work via a magnetic field so your pans must have a metal content.
Some good deals for these on E Bay
