Its a good site, but it doesn't appear to talk about damping backs of tiles first. I do it - it prevents the moisture in the adhesive being sucked into the porous tiles.

not usually ... give the floor a very light damping to settle / remove any dust. If you're sticking tiles to dust, they won't be stuck to the floor.

As a rule I don't because absorbtion of moisture (along with the suspended mortar) is needed for good adhesion. If your Quickset mortar seems too dry you will find it better to trowel it off and reapply fresh.
