bit confused by taps of all things....

Hello All ABers,
I'm about to embark on a new bathroom and I need a shower. No problem except that I just need a normal mixer tap and all the showers I look at with taps seem to be thermostaticaly controlled. I would like a shower like the one in the picture but a normal manual mixer valve to go with it because we have solar power for our water heat and setting a temperature would be pointless as you takes what you get lol....
Am I making any sense btw? all help much appreciated and this is the shower I would like....

The thermostat just regulates the different flows is does not heat the water to a set temperature as it comes in to the shower, as in it will let more hot through than cold when you want a hot shower and vice-a-versa if you want it cool. Exactley the same as a mixer they both rely on the temperature of the water you have got except you do not have to turn the hot tap up a bit or the cold one down abit to get you're desired temperature, it does it for you automatically. So i would not be at all worrying about it, just fit what you would like.
Thank You gasman,
atm, we just have a normal mixer tap, which means we have to turn the tap up or down depending on the temp of the tank of warmed up water.
I prefer normal mixer taps and don't want a fandangled thermostat thingy. I just like the look of the shower and don't want anything complicated lol.....
I don't understand how a tap doesn't need turning up or down when the temp on the tank varies from 30 to 55.....

a themo mixer tap will stop your water from getting too hot. but if your solar heated water is cooler than the temp setting on the thermostatic mixer it will only let the warm water through so you can fit the thermostatic one no worries
check this is the case when you buy it , ask the shop for exact spec so you can take it back if they miss sell it.
