Is it reasonable to pay 2500 for a new bathroom suite, new ceiling with spotlights, tiled walls and floor and replacing a really small radiator with a towel rail. The bathroom is basically the length of the bath and you have to walk round the door to close it before you can sit down. Appox 7ft x 6 ft. Seems extortionate to me. I'm hoping I'm wrong and I'm not being ripped off.
Yes, depending on the standard of the workmanship and the quality of the suite and tiles. Say 800 for the materials and 6 man days for the work. ........ish!
Yeah Id agree, its probably the going rate, though you would expect a bloody good job. Maybe get a quote or two first though....just to be sure in your mind!
Cheers people, it's a school friend of my bro and I'm sure he wouldn't rip me off. Just assume he thinks we're minted and can afford sterling silver taps or somethin!! Maybe speak to him about sourcing cheaper materials.
We just had our bathroom done - it's the length of a bath one way and just a foot or two longer the other way and we piad just over 3k for the lot - similar spec to what you're describing so 2.5k sounds fine
Hiring friends or friends of relatives has never come out well for me. Get other Quotes just to be sureand be specific about everything. Remember this ----- good contracts make good friends. ------- No matter who does the work, spell it out in writing!!!!!!!!!!! This from one who has been on the wrong end of a similar situation. ED
