What plants
3 Answers
I live in an old cottage - low ceilings and small windows. What house plants would be suitable to low light conditions. I'm looking for plants to grow indoors in pots as standards up to 2metres height ? Help please.

Off the top of my head, I think the old victorian favorite, 'Aspidestra' aka the cast iron plant would be ideal, also 'The thorn fern' (asparagus falcatus), Parlor palm, (chamadedora elegans) Birds Nest fern (blechnum), the variegated ivy's and climbing Philodendrons should also do well. Good Luck Tbird+

Also consider dracaena (dragon plant) - many varieties:
1) marginata has thin strap shaped leaves dark green with red margins
2) corn plant has broad strap shaped leaves in stripes of light and dark green
There are many others but I know these two grow on tall stalks.
Also dieffenbachia (dumb cane) - large broad leaves speckled with white
Also consider artificial plants -- I finally caved in, compromised my standards, and now I never have to fret.
