The radiator in my bedroom makes a tapping noise about every minute or 2 starting off quick and then slowing down, a sort of TAPTAPTAPTAPTAPTAP..TAPTAPTAP.....TAP.....TAP.......TAP...............TAP before stopping. I live in a 1 bed flat and the bedroom rad is both furthest from the gas combi boiler and the lowest in the flat. Can somebody tell me what this noise is and how to stop it?

Is it all the time, or just after the heating has come on, or gone off?

It is either noise of the pipes expanding as they warm up and rubbing on the floor boards where the pipes come up out of the floor void you will need to widen the holes to allow for this expansion or they are rubbing on the joist's You need to lift up the floor boards where the pipe runs are and wrap felt arond the pipes where they come into contact with the timber. Or it is the same thing happening but on the rad brackets and you need to put some strong insulation tape into the groove's that the rad hangs on. It is no cause for alarm just an annoying noise that you either put up with or do as i suggested to cure it.
