hi all any one know how to keep old and new brass cleaned to keep the shine on it at all times thanks again

Brasso or Duraglit and lots of good old fashioned elbow grease.
Brass willl always tarnish so the only option is to keep polishing it.
Very often new brass is coated and does not need a polish only a wipe with a damp cloth
Once you've got it thoroughly polished, give it two (thin) coats of 'diamond hard' polyurethate gloss varnish. I have brass door handles I did this way over 10 years ago, and they're still like new, despite being in frequent use.
Delete 'polyurethate', and insert 'polyurethane'! (I blame the keyboard)!
