I painted my bathroom walls about 2 years ago with normal bathroom emulsion. After a couple of months a patch of pain appeared to be cracking and peeling of the wall, this patch is now huge and many more large patches have appeared. I desperatly need to redecorate but don't know how to stop this happening again????? On many of these patches it is very hard to get fresh paint to stick! What can i do?

Does your bathroom have much aeration? High levels of moisture can get behind the paint and as it gets damp and then dries again and again it can cause the paintwork to crack.

Or... you may have used a cheap quality bathroom paint.

You'll need to start over i'm afraid. And this time I would recommend you start with sealing the walls first (buy wallpaper paste and add twice as much recommended water and then simply paint the walls with this, and allow to dry fully). Then paint with TWO coats of a good quality bathroom paint. Dulux or the like.
Did you emulsion over an oil-based paint? If so, that's the problem. The only solution would be to sand the walls down before emulsioning with a good quality bathroom/kitchen emulsion.
I had the same problem years ago, Rub the afffected areas down and apply a good quality oil based undercoat, when dry paint the walls as normal with a good quality silk emulsion, IT WORKS,
sand the wall down, then ensuring your bathroom is completly dry apply a good under coat, once this is completly dry put on your bathroom paint
