Cos of a large (massive actually!) gas bill last year I got my house done, loft and cavity. I've certainly noticed a difference because I haven't had my heating as high as I did, yet it is just as warm in the house.
Definitely! I have noticed a huge difference since I had mine done.
The house stays warmer for longer after the heating has been turned off .
I don't have the heating on as high as I did or for as long as I did.
There seems to be less outside noise, in the winter with the doors shut.
thank you both ,my concerns were more about problems with damp patches etc if the job is not properly and use of the correct materials, im sure you are both right about the savings on heating bills and the house being warmer ,any body had problems with damp etc ???? thanks again
you need to be carefull about what is being pumped into your cavity . In modern houses a gap is left behind the insulation to allow air to circulate. If the material being pumped in is too dense the cavity will be bridged by a soggy pulp of wet cotton wool which will cause thermal bridging which will cause you problems with damp / mould.
