I wasn't sure where to ask this question so forgive me if you think its in the wrong section.. Im looking to buy a new house and I have found the perfect property.. However its next door to an electrical sub-station. What I want to know is are there any potential health risks in living so close to one? Does anyone else live next to one and have they had any problems with it? MTIA

I lived next to one for 4 years in my last house. Our solicitor mentioned it before we signed the contract and said no research has shown there to be any danger related to living next to one.

As for where to post, how about House and Garden? ;o)
hi,
i have no idea... like you, i bet youve heard bits and bobs in the press and if youre like me the wrong bits and bobs stick in your mind... i would try the science section.. there seems to be some real boffins in that section... hope this helps....
good luck x
We lived next to one for about ten years and didn't or haven't suffered any side affects at all - I think you have to be aware of pylons more than anything.
