Have been trying to get a Chubb key cut for a while. I have tried three different key cutters (shoe menders / tube station type places) and each time the newly cut key ends up not working. I have tried a different copy of the key, but no joy. I don't have the original 'master' key (it's with my landlady...in America) to try making a copy of either. Who are the real experts at this sort of thing? Preferably in North or Central London. Preferably a mysterious, musty, Dickensian old shop full of oily wooden drawers and ancient geezers in pince-nez specs, but I'm not fussy.

Maybe it is the lock at fault and not the key. You may have to replace the whole unit.
