Rust marks on washing

I've recently found stains on my washing after taking it out of the washing machine. They look like rust marks. I have checked the inside of the drum for signs of rust but found nothing. Any suggestions what might be causing them?

Sorry cant be of much help. But just to let you know i have the same thing happening to alot of my whites. I was wondering if its where i hang my clothes to dry.

Cheap zips & rivets on jeans. Don't look to the drum - look to your clothes?

My wife had this on our washing ( which ruined lots of clothing ) , it turned out to be rust coming from the drum bearings .Get that checked out as its quite a big job to replace them .

May be cheaper and more economical to buy a new machine!

Can't help with the cause but can suggest a cure. Try Oil of Eucalyptus gently rubbed onto the clothes.

I have found a denture cleanser called DENTACLEN is fantastic at removing iron mould and rust stains from white washing

i also have the same problem which has ruined loads of my clothes. i have a fairly new washing machine so i don't think it is that. today i removed the powder dispenser and found the bigest build up of black gunge. it was blocking the water dispersing holes which i presume means this has been running into my washing. i seem to have had this problem since moving to a different water 'type' area. could this be the cause? i too have tried everything to remove these stains but they seem to have completely stained the fibres both front and back of the fabric - not at all like a 'normal' stain which at least fades after time. am so fed up - have just ruined a pair of new white trousers. can anyone help with removal - surly there must be something to remove these stains.
