Curtain pole fittings

I'm looking for fittings to hold a curtain pole firmly to the wall. The one I have is the usual sort with a fitting each end and one in the middle, each held by a single screw.

The problerm is that the curtains are heavy and the weight is pulling the fixings away from the wall. I need to find fixings that are each held by two or three screws - not just one. There are plently of internet adverts for curtains and rails, but nowhere have I yet found one offering multi-screw fittings, and local DIYs don't help. Any information much appreciated - thank you.

without seeing the fixings it's hard to give a good answer, but is it possible to use longer screws and drill out a bigger hole and use rawl plugs that have a flat face on them that fits flush to the wall. i sometimes find that the screws and plugs that they supply are too weak. i have just put up 5 sets of blinds and have had to do the same thing. good luck.

Thank you chevrolet. I'm expecting someone to call and have a look at the job. (Not too good up steps and ladders myself!) Your suggestion will probably be the answer. Interesting that you also have found that plugs and screws supplied are too weak. Let's hope suppliers sometimes learn from AB.
an alternative is to fix a timber batten to the wall the length of the rail and then screw the rail onto that.
